College Park Elementary School

College Park Elementary School
Virginia Beach, Virginia

College Park Elementary School is a modern-day model of education facilities. The 94,000 square foot, Net Zero and LEED Platinum certified school serves as a prototype for the Virginia Beach City School District. Dills Architects used Fabral Silhouette HCF Series wall panels in a rainscreen application. This durable exterior cladding resists the abuse of active school children and helps create a tight seal netting unprecedented energy efficiency. College Park Elementary School operates at a 55% better performance rate than building requirements. As a rainscreen, metal panels provide a breathable membrane to keep moisture from getting trapped inside the wall. This allows for better energy efficiency and indoor air quality, crucial for educational environments.
