Race Pace Bicycles

RACING TO RENOVATION WITH METAL

GEARING UP BRAND APPEAL FROM THE OUTSIDE IN

Race Pace Bicycles has offered high-quality bicycle-related products and services since 1978. When their Ellicott City location was relocated due to its original location in a strip mall being torn down. Owner Alex Obriecht found a new spot for Race Pace Bicycles in a local warehouse in the same area that the original store had been in.
While the location was nostalgic, there was a lot to do in terms of remodeling. Ammon Heisler Sachs Architects remodeled the old warehouse into what became the new Race Pace Bicycles with all its modern charm. As part of the modern design, they worked with N.B Handy Inc. and the installer Baker Construction to add Fabral 12-and 16-inch Silhouette HCF Series metal wall panels.
Fabral played an important role in this project by:
  • Providing the structure’s façade with a modern aesthetic needed to attract customers.
  • Reinforcing and mirroring Race Pace's strong local brand through its extensive color selection with a mix of red and slate gray.
  • Enhancing the current corrugated metal roof by removing and replacing it with a new, highly reflective Fabral standing-seam metal roof system that reduces the heat island effect.
The project took a little under 2 years and was completed in 2014.
The mix of Fabral metal roof and wall systems added efficiency, branding and allure to the overall project.
