The new Brazos County Tax Office is a 10,580 square foot facility boasting public areas including a vestibule, restrooms and waiting area, 14 customer service windows, 2 drive through stations, open work space, conference rooms and more. This $2.8 million facility is scheduled for completion summer of 2015.
Fabral PowerSeam metal roofing was chosen for this unique roof design. The 107 foot 24 gauge 16″ PowerSeam panels were site formed in Clear Coat Galvalume with Bright Silver perimeter trim. Standing seam roofs are designed to be floating systems. On most projects the peak of the panels are fixed, which allows the rest of the panel to slide for thermal expansion. Due to the extreme roof length on this project, special considerations had to be taken into account for the panel expansion. Instead of fixing the panels at the peak, the panels were fixed in the middle of the roof with fixed clips and floating clips were used on the rest of the roof. This allowed the panels to expand in both directions, toward the eave and toward the peak. Fabral’s ability to adapt to this custom design requirement combined with their excellent sales and engineering support made them an easy choice for this project.
