Concord Hill School

Chevy Chase, Maryland

The Concord Hill School opened in 1965 and has been a leader in early childhood education ever since. From age three to grade three, the school specializes in creating the ideal environment that nurtures each child’s innate curiosity, creativity, and wonderment while building foundational skills and self-confidence.

The facility that houses the school last saw significant renovations in 1987. Hoping to bring the building into the 21st century, the school board members looked to enhance the look of the facility, which is where Fabral stepped in to help.

Our team worked with local dealer Walt Moulder of Eastern Metals and the school’s chosen architect(Carib Daniel Martin Architecture + Design), to create an intricate metal panel system to refresh the exterior facade of the building. This project features multiple iterations of the 12″ Silhouette HCF Series, all in the color Regal Blue, equaling approximately 600 sq. feet. The team creatively developed a masterpiece that utilized the panel system in three configurations nested and installed over a custom framing system.

While the overall retrofit was relatively small, the intricate and artistic ways in which the metal panel system was used changed the appearance of this building. “The project is a true testament to how versatile metal material and panels can be used to dress up a structure and make a building pop out and appear inviting,” said Michael Vaughn, Marketing Manager at Fabral.
