The Ledge Amphitheater is a beautiful outdoor entertainment venue situated between two quarries in Waite Park, Minnesota. The space allows for up to 6,000 guests and boasts amenities for every type of visitor. Something taken into consideration for this project is the granite stone visitors will find carved into the surrounding landscape. With the nearby town of St. Cloud being one of the country’s most prominent granite mine destinations, this type of rock is natural to the area.
One of the biggest goals for this project was to ensure that it would provide a long-term revenue stream for the city. Having been familiar with Fabral products, the lead designer on the project knew the durability and look of a metal system would accomplish what the client was looking for.
For this project, Custom Builders led the design and specification of the project before passing it off to Alliance Contracting, who took over the general contractors and build responsibilities. Our team at Fabral worked closely with everyone involved to ensure everything came together.
When choosing the products, durability and beauty remained top of mind. The 1 1/2″ SSR 24 Gauge High Strength Galvalume Steel in True Black is featured on the roof system. This panel is constructed to perform at optimum levels year after year. For the post-frame nature of the wall system, we used our 29 Gauge Steel galvanized Proclad product that is guaranteed to ensure durability on energy-efficient and sustainable buildings.
The doors and windows were set before the trim, posing a unique installation challenge. Fabral was able to use this as an opportunity to create a custom one-piece design for the door and window trim allowing for easy installation while ensuring strong performance and aesthetics.
Since the launch of The Ledge Amphitheater, the City of Waite Park received the 2022 City of Excellence Award from the League of Minnesota Cities.
