Spooky Nook Sports

With more than 700,000 sq. ft and over 50 acres of outdoor facilities, Spooky Nook Sports is the largest sports facility in the US. Their massive facility includes ten regulation basketball courts, ten regulation volleyball courts, six full size tennis courts, and a full size indoor baseball diamond among a multitude of other activities. Once a manufacturing facility for Armstrong World Industries, owner Sam Beiler made the decision to transform the building’s interior into the multi-use sports center. The project’s architect, David Bravo, faced a number of challenges blending elaborate retro-fitting, renovations and new construction on the 37 year old building. J.C. Snavely Building Supply Center, the supplier of building materials for the project, recommended Fabral as a manufacturer not only local to the job but also one they had a solid history with. Impressed with the look of the line, David Bravo chose to work with Fabral’s Hefti Rib in Bright Silver. The project uses thirty seven squares of horizontal, inverted Hefti-Rib Panels with continuous mitered corners on the marque entrance of the building.The project reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. With the capacity to host clubs, leagues, tournaments and championship events throughout the year, Spooky Nooks Sports was even chosen as home of the national women’s USA Field Hockey team. This project makes a tremendous positive impact on the community, and Fabral is proud to have played part in the transformation of a dated distribution warehouse into a dynamic, world class, and unrivaled sports facility.
