Situated along Alabama’s Gulf Coast, Orange Beach is a quaint city renowned for its prominence as a water sports destination. Orange Beach is currently investing millions of dollars in public safety enhancements with the ongoing construction of a cutting-edge fire station on Canal Road.
Orange Beach Fire Department Station #3 will be a pioneering facility, marking the first of its kind. City Administrator Ken Grimes highlights the significant impact of this $5.4 million project, encompassing the construction of a state-of-the-art building featuring four drive-through bays for parking fire engines and an ambulance.
For this project, Exterior Materials used Fabral 24 gauge Stand ‘N Seam in Clear Galvalume for the 17,819 LF metal roof. Cockrell Metals LLC, out of Pensacola, Florida was the roofing installer. Our team at Fabral worked closely with everyone involved to ensure everything came together.
Fabral’s Stand ‘N Seam high-performance, structural roof system boasts the highest wind uplift resistance of any standing seam panel available in the market. A unique onepiece stainless steel clip design allows for unlimited thermal movement. Side joints are double lock-seamed to ensure weathertightness and yields continuous long length panels, eliminating unsightly end-laps from ridge to eave.
Grimes mentioned that firefighters had been operating from makeshift stations at the Wharf and, more recently, in proximity
to the city’s sportsplex. The burgeoning development in the area necessitated the construction of a new facility. Emphasizing
the city’s commitment to public safety, Grimes stated, “The mayor and council have consistently prioritized public safety.
This station will also accommodate an ambulance, making it a crucial asset located at the end of the road in Orange Beach.”
