Lower Windsor Township Building

Wrightsville, PA

After a destructive fire destroyed the Lower Windsor Township Highway Maintenance Building, a solution was needed to rebuild the devastation. The damage from the August 2013 fire and subsequent explosions was so extensive that investigators were unable to even determine a cause. The extreme amount of damage to the property required a complete redesign and rebuild to get the building back up and running. A new larger building, consisting of Fabral 1-1/2″ SSR, Grandrib3 and Mighti-Rib, was constructed to house their large vehicles and tools. These substrate choices met the design challenge to match an existing structure, in both colors and texture. Fabral was able to provide a total system solution for this building, manufacturing the metal walls, roof, soffit and flashing in addition to providing even the underlayment. Fabral always thinks of the total system when designing a project, using quality products that will last for years to come.

Planning for the new building began in early spring of 2014 after insurance investigations were finalized. Construction started that August and finished at the end of December. Township officials cut the red ribbon to this municipal building on Saturday, February 27, 2015 signifying that the new building is officially open for business. At about 18,700 square feet, the building is considerably larger than the one that burned down in 2013 and has some great features the other building didn’t such as repair and wash bays for the maintenance vehicles.
